Visiting Assistant Professor - Biology
About The Position
Trinity University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology for a two-semester appointment beginning in January 2027 and continuing through Fall 2027. The position teaches an Ecology course with two laboratory sections in Spring 2027 and introductory biology core laboratory sections in Fall 2027, for a total equivalent to six courses across the two terms. The instructor will deliver lectures, teach laboratory sections, assign grades, maintain office hours, follow instructional policies in the Faculty Handbook, and provide accommodations determined by the Office of Student Accessibility Services. Work takes place in offices, classrooms, and teaching laboratories. On-site attendance is required.
Requirements
- PhD in an area of biological sciences.
- Mastery of the relevant subject matter.
- Ability to deliver engaging lectures, discussions, or in-class activities.
- Ability to design rigorous and meaningful assignments.
- Commitment to the liberal arts mission of Trinity University.
- Ability to move about freely.
- Willingness to travel on behalf of Trinity University.
Nice To Haves
