About The Position

The Department of Physics seeks an outstanding educator for a one-year appointment as a full-time, 12-month Visiting Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2026, with classes starting on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The primary responsibilities will be teaching Drexel’s large introductory-level service courses, but duties may also include undergraduate instruction at all levels. The successful candidate will employ a variety of strategies to foster student learning including encouraging active learning, promoting an inclusive classroom environment, maintaining proper course-related records, and promptly providing students with feedback as to their progress toward meeting the course objectives. Teaching responsibilities may include face-to-face or online instruction during the day or evening. A full-time teaching load consists of 12 credit hours per term, which typically corresponds to 3 courses or lecture sections. The appointment will be for 1 year with no possibility of renewal.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Physics
