About The Position

A full-time instructional academic staff position is available in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science for the 2026-2027 academic year, with a start date of August 17, 2026. The official title for the position is Lecturer with a working title of Visiting Assistant Professor. This is a one-year appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in the area of Geology and Environmental Science or Physical Geography from a regionally accredited institution is required.
  • Applicants must be work-authorized in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • Teach the equivalent of 15 credits each semester, as assigned (GEOL 106 Earth Science in the fall and spring semesters with the possibility of teaching an upper-division course during the spring in the content area of the successful candidate’s qualifications).
