About The Position
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking a Full-Time Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology (Appointment Stream) in the Division of Biological & Health Sciences, beginning Fall 2026. Pitt-Bradford is a regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh located in scenic Northwestern PA. It is a beautiful, friendly campus with an emphasis on teaching. While faculty have the advantage of expansive resources and research opportunities available through the University of Pittsburgh system, they also enjoy one-on-one contact with their students in a secure, personalized environment.
Requirements
- PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or a related field
- Strong commitment to teaching undergraduates
Nice To Haves
- Applied experience within the field of Biology
- Experience teaching at the university or collegiate level
- Experience in cell and molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, immunology, and/or microbiology
- Experienced working with college students from diverse backgrounds
- Applied experience in the field of expertise
Responsibilities
- Teach twelve credits per semester, in Biology, at the undergraduate level.
- Support the Biology, Environmental Science, and Forensic Science programs.
- Course assignments will include introductory and general education lectures and/or labs in addition to upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
