About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking a Full-Time Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology (Appointment Stream) in the Division of Biological & Health Sciences, beginning Fall 2026. Pitt-Bradford is a regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh located in scenic Northwestern PA. It is a beautiful, friendly campus with an emphasis on teaching. While faculty have the advantage of expansive resources and research opportunities available through the University of Pittsburgh system, they also enjoy one-on-one contact with their students in a secure, personalized environment.

Requirements

  • PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or a related field
  • Strong commitment to teaching undergraduates

Nice To Haves

  • Applied experience within the field of Biology
  • Experience teaching at the university or collegiate level
  • Experience in cell and molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, immunology, and/or microbiology
  • Experienced working with college students from diverse backgrounds
  • Applied experience in the field of expertise

Responsibilities

  • Teach twelve credits per semester, in Biology, at the undergraduate level.
  • Support the Biology, Environmental Science, and Forensic Science programs.
  • Course assignments will include introductory and general education lectures and/or labs in addition to upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
