About The Position

The Department of Film Media Theater at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor to teach a 2/3 course load, with specialization in Theatrical Scenic and Properties Design beginning July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. Three courses are dedicated to classroom instruction and two courses are assigned to scenic and properties design responsibilities for the department’s mainstage production season. Qualifications for the position include: an MFA or terminal degree (or ABD) in theatre with a background in scenic design. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, and religion.
