About The Position

The Engineering Fundamentals Department in the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, is seeking to fill a visiting position at the Assistant Professor level. The department is looking for a candidate who can contribute to teaching first- and second-year engineering courses. The primary responsibility for this role will be teaching, with an assigned workload of 4+4 classes, typically with 24 students per class. Service and research are not responsibilities for this position. The faculty candidate will join a diverse and collegial team of faculty in the Engineering Fundamentals Department, which focuses on innovative engineering courses using evidence-based instruction and research in engineering education. The College of Engineering offers undergraduate programs in six ABET-accredited engineering degrees.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Capability to teach one or more first- or second-year general engineering courses, specifically Introduction to Engineering Design, Introductory Computer Programming (i.e., MATLAB), or Engineering Graphics (i.e., CATIA or SolidWORKS).
  • Active participation in the department.
  • Collaboration across disciplines within the College of Engineering.

  • Terminal degree in any area of engineering.
