About The Position

The Architecture Section of the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture at The Ohio State University seeks forward-looking candidates for the Howard E. LeFevre ’29 Fellowship. The LeFevre Fellowship is a two-year appointment for an emerging architect to develop an ambitious research project addressing contemporary questions in architecture. While at the Knowlton School, the fellow will have the opportunity to pursue focused research alongside related teaching and public programming. Intended to support work that expands the boundaries of the discipline, the fellowship provides access to research support, fabrication and exhibition facilities, focused teaching assignments, and an intellectually engaged community of colleagues committed to experimentation. The successful applicant will receive two consecutive nine-month appointments over two academic years. During this period, the fellow is expected to develop a substantial body of research that contributes to the intellectual and design culture of the Knowlton School and to the broader discipline of architecture. The fellowship is structured to provide both time and resources for this work. Fellows teach studios and seminars related to their research, develop a public exhibition, deliver a public lecture, and may organize related events such as symposia, workshops, or other forms of public programming. Support includes salary for the teaching appointment, a paid research assistant, funding for research and project materials, and a budget for events and programming.

Requirements

A terminal degree in architecture or a closely allied discipline.
Evidence of the ability to initiate and develop an original research, design, or creative project.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and engaged approaches to architectural education.

Prior teaching experience is not required.

Responsibilities
