About The Position

The University of Memphis Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Teaching for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The University of Memphis is an R1 Research University emphasizing scholarship, teaching, and service. The Criminology and Criminal Justice Department is a research-intensive group of faculties working within an environment committed to community engagement and collaboration. Requirements

  • At least a master’s in criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social science discipline or Juris Doctorate or Ed.D.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • The position is contingent upon available funding and is for a one-year term.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four courses per semester.
