About The Position

The Department of Biology in the Petree College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma City University is seeking a one-year, non-tenure track Visiting Biology Professor. The role is intended to complement and enhance the department’s pre-health profession related programs through innovative and creative instruction. While the area of specialization is open, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, and/or Genetics. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community and who understand the barriers facing different groups of students, demonstrating a passion for helping all students achieve their academic and career goals. Applications will be reviewed immediately and continue until the position is filled, with a start date of August 2026. Finalists will be expected to present an engaging teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.

Requirements

  • A terminal degree in a field closely related to the discipline
  • Previous college teaching experience is preferred
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching 24 credit hours annually
  • Active participation in departmental, college, and university service
  • Active participation in the department's assessment program
