About The Position

Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Biology courses in the Biology program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin in fall 2025.

Requirements

  • Preferred Ph.D. in Biology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 graduate hours in biology.
  • Successful teaching experience at the college level.
  • Documented performance in teaching, scholarship and service with an ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • A commitment to student engagement and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A cover letter addressing the qualifications listed above.
  • A teaching philosophy.
  • A current curriculum vita.
  • Copies of all transcripts.
  • Names, addresses, titles, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of at least 5 professional references.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, Introductory biology for majors and non majors as well as other courses in the biology curriculum.
  • Teaching responsibility to include innovative use of technology and student engagement in the classroom.
  • Student academic advisement, maintaining office hours and service to the college.
  • Actively serve on college committees and student organizations.
  • Meet established deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chair, Dean, or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
