About The Position

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is seeking a specialist in Virtual Urgent Care (Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine trained) to provide virtual care services to Kaiser Permanente patients throughout their service areas in DC, MD & VA. Candidates must reside in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. This role involves an initial period of in-person clinical shifts for training, followed by a virtual-only position. To maintain familiarity with the integrated care model, a minimum of 100 hours of in-person urgent care is required annually. Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Eligible in Family Practice or Emergency Medicine.
• Experienced in all modalities of virtual care.
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
• Reside in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual urgent care services.
• Stay current with telemedicine guidance, attend meetings and conferences, and share insights with colleagues.
• Review and respond to emails, internal text messages, and chat platforms before each shift.
• Be scheduled for Get Care Now (on-demand synchronous care) and E-visits (asynchronous care).
• Work evenings, overnights, and holidays (including 3 out of 5 minor holidays, 2 of the major winter holidays, and one holiday eve).
• Work 1 out of every 2 weekends.
• Collaborate with the MAPMG Licensing Team to obtain and maintain over 20 required state medical licenses within 2 years of hire.
