About The Position

Edmentum is seeking a Full Time Virtual Teacher, Science to join their dynamic educator and student-focused company. This role is responsible for delivering tech-enabled learning solutions and ensuring students have access to flexible learning environments. The Virtual Science Teacher will be the face and voice of Edmentum for students, delivering live, on-camera instruction, personalizing learning, and creating an online environment where students feel seen, supported, and motivated to succeed. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Active state teaching license in Science (Biology, Chemistry, General Science) grades 6-12
Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings
Comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom
Confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day, every instructional day, and build real connection with students through a screen
Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software
Ability to read student performance data and use it to adjust live instruction
Excellent communicator, in writing and verbally
Highly organized and self-directed, with time management skills to independently manage a full student caseload in a remote environment
Committed to own professional growth, maintaining certification and staying current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices
Integrity, warmth, and a deep belief that every student can succeed

Responsibilities

Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement.
Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.
Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records that keep students and families informed and on track.
Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication that fosters trust and shared accountability for learning outcomes.
Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.
Willingness to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
