About The Position

Edmentum is seeking a Full Time Virtual Teacher for Biology in Ohio. This role involves delivering live, on-camera synchronous instruction, personalizing learning based on student data, providing feedback, building relationships with students and families, and collaborating with school partners. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a digital environment, engaging on camera, and skilled in using online learning platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Active Ohio state teaching license in Biology grades 6-12.
Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
Comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom.
Confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day.
Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
Ability to read student performance data and use it to adjust live instruction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and self-directed with strong time management skills.
Integrity, warmth, and a deep belief that every student can succeed.

Responsibilities

Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience.
Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt teaching approaches.
Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records.
Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication.
Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality student support.
Commit to own professional growth, maintaining certification and staying current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.
Willingness to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
