About The Position

Edmentum is seeking a dedicated Virtual Math Teacher to join our team. This role is crucial for providing students with flexible learning environments and educators with the tools they need to support their students. The Virtual Math Teacher will be the primary educator for students, delivering live, on-camera instruction, personalizing learning, and creating a supportive online classroom environment. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Active state teaching license with an endorsement in Mathematics, grades 6-12.
Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
Comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom.
Confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day, every instructional day, and build real connection with students through a screen.
Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
Ability to read student performance data and use it to adjust live instruction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and self-directed, with time management skills to independently manage a full student caseload in a remote environment.

Integrity, warmth, and a deep belief that every student can succeed.

Nice To Haves

Preferred licensure in Virginia, Indiana, and/or Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement.
Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.
Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records that keep students and families informed and on track.
Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication that fosters trust and shared accountability for learning outcomes.
Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.
Maintain certification and stay current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.
Take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
