About The Position

Edmentum is seeking a Full-Time Virtual Biology Teacher for students in Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. This role involves delivering live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five or more hours per day, creating an engaging virtual classroom, and personalizing learning based on student data. The teacher will build relationships with students and families, provide feedback, and collaborate with school partners and colleagues. This is a Remote First position for educators who thrive in a digital environment and believe in the power of live teaching.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Active state teaching license in Biology grades 6-12.
Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
Comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom.
Confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day, every instructional day, and build real connection with students through a screen.
Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
Ability to read student performance data and use it to adjust live instruction.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Highly organized and self-directed, with time management skills to independently manage a full student caseload in a remote environment.
Commitment to own professional growth.

Responsibilities

Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement.
Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.
Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records that keep students and families informed and on track.
Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication that fosters trust and shared accountability for learning outcomes.
Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.
Maintain certification and stay current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.
Take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
