Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, Medical Secretary, or in a similar healthcare administration role.
  • A strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a remote setting.
  • A high level of discretion and a strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • A reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, private home office space.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA, RMA) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Managing patient scheduling, including booking, confirming, and rescheduling appointments.
  • Handling incoming patient enquiries via phone, email, and secure messaging platforms with the utmost professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintaining and accurately updating patient information within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Assisting with medical billing processes, including verifying insurance information and processing claims.
  • Transcribing medical dictations, patient notes, and other clinical documentation.
  • Coordinating with pharmacies to manage prescription refills and enquiries.
  • Providing general administrative support to clinicians and healthcare providers.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to patient confidentiality and data protection regulations.
