About The Position

The Virtual Expert Trainer (VET) is a critical field leadership role responsible for advancing fleet reliability, technician capability, and operational excellence across the West and Texoma Regions. This position leverages virtual training technologies, predictive and data-driven maintenance strategies, and real-time collaboration tools to elevate technician performance and reduce fleet downtime. The VET partners closely with field maintenance teams, Fleet Engineering, and the Fleet Service Center to deliver high-impact training, improve cost performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in fleet maintenance and fleet management systems
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and develop technicians through technical and behavioral competencies
  • Strong leadership skills including facilitation, coaching, and team development
  • Demonstrated ability to influence frontline employees and shop leadership
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills
  • Must reside within the assigned region(s)
  • Active participation in regional and national meetings as required
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment and in manufacturing or shop environments
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, etc.)
  • Must pass required screening and background checks
  • Must meet any Travel restrictions guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with virtual training technologies (e.g., AI, Go to Assist, remote support tools)
  • Background in fleet analytics, cost reporting, or performance optimization
  • Experience supporting change management or large-scale initiatives
  • Exposure to OEM training programs and specification review processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and facilitate technical and non-technical training to fleet technicians and shop leadership
  • Develop, standardize, and deploy digital training content through centralized platforms
  • Support onboarding, upskilling, and certification development for technician roles
  • Translate OE training and technical updates into practical field applications
  • Lead and support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies across the fleet
  • Analyze fleet cost data to identify trends and drive cost reduction initiatives
  • Partner with the Fleet Service Center to review and challenge high-cost repair estimates
  • Promote best practices to improve asset uptime, reliability, and PM compliance
  • Utilize tools such as Uptake, Noregon remote diagnostics platforms, and virtual meeting technology (e.g., Teams & Go to Assist) to deliver training and support field teams
  • Expand adoption of digital and remote troubleshooting capabilities across locations
  • Support the implementation of fleet technology initiatives and system improvements
  • Collaborate with Fleet Engineering on OE specifications and equipment improvements
  • Participate in regional and national fleet meetings to align priorities and share insights
  • Partner with field leadership to drive change management and operational alignment
