About The Position

This role serves as a subject matter expert for virtual orientation software at KLLM, collaborating with various departments. The Virtual Driver Orientation Coordinator will provide weekly online/virtual driver orientations for new hire experienced drivers, utilizing diverse instructional methods including group/individual instruction and computer programs. A key responsibility is facilitating the completion of pre-employment requirements such as drug screens, hair follicle tests, DOT physicals, CDL copies, and LUMA. The role requires effective communication through visual and auditory methods, planning and preparing lessons based on participant learning needs, and relating well to individuals of different ages and abilities. The coordinator must maintain a conducive online learning environment, follow an approved course of study, and provide assistance on company policy, training, equipment, and resources. Communication with the Recruiting department regarding virtual learner status is essential. The role involves managing and motivating participants under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment, completing and maintaining new hire registration, attendance, and assessment records, and ensuring timely submission of completed courses. Collaboration with other department managers to keep curriculum current, acting as a team player, and ensuring successful truck assignments for a complete onboarding transition are also key. The coordinator will work with Operations, Maintenance, and Drivers for a seamless handoff, contribute to driver retention efforts, and perform other duties as assigned by the Orientation Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) of virtual orientation software for KLLM, which includes working with other Departments outside of Virtual Orientation
  • Provide weekly Online/ Virtual Driver Orientation for new hire experienced drivers
  • Implement a variety of instructional delivery methods, that include group or individualized instruction as well as computer programs
  • Facilitate completion of pre-employment requirements (drug screens, hair follicle test, DOT physicals, CDL copies, LUMA etc.)
  • Effectively communicate using multiple training methods (visual and auditory)
  • Plan and prepare relevant lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of multi-skill participants
  • Relate well to different ages and ability levels
  • Maintain an online classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the skills level and interests of all participants
  • Follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives
  • Provide assistance and instruction to participants on company policy, training related matters, equipment and resources
  • Communicate with Recruiting on status of virtual learners
