About The Position
This internship is open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on practical experience in the construction field with a specialization in Virtual Building practices and Digital Technologies. Qualified applicants will assist our VDC and project teams through all phases of a project—from initiation through turnover. Assignments include office and job site; relocation to remote-sites may be required. Transportation is required. Work periods are 10-12 weeks; 40 hours/week. Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Responsibilities
- Assist VDC and project teams through all phases of a project.
- Perform VDC-Specific Tasks including 3D modeling for site logistics planning, 3D printing applications, mixed media (VR, AR, MR), virtual mock-ups, and existing conditions documentation.
- Create renderings and animations for project visualization.
- Develop phasing and 4D scheduling animations.
- Perform 5D Model Quantity Takeoffs.
- Assist with Reality Capture and Laser Scanning.
- Support a Project’s Virtual Building Program for 3D coordination.
- Collaborate with Architect, Engineers, and Owners to mitigate construction conflicts.
- Support Prefabrication and Offsite construction practices.
- Use a total station for digital layout.
- Create composite drawings for submittal and contract requirements.
- Develop 3D as-built deliverables.
- Assist with Integrated Digital Turnover and digital twin development.
- Write RFIs to support the Virtual Building Program.
- Respond to subcontractor RFIs.
- Interface with subcontractors.
- Attend weekly meetings (OAC, Virtual Building, Subcontractor, Team).
- Assist with reviewing construction documents, specifications, and revisions.
- Assist with quality control and safety.
- Participate in punchlist & project closeout.
- Cooperate and work with field project management.
- Perform other assigned duties.
