The VIP BOH Supervisor is an hourly position with variable hours, supporting the management team in running the theatre. This role primarily focuses on the back-of-house operations in a quick-service kitchen, ensuring high standards of hospitality, food service execution, and team leadership, while adhering to all theatre policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • National Food Safety Training Program
  • First Aid (Adult and CPR)
  • Provincial Alcohol Handling/Serving Certification
  • Past experience working in a kitchen environment.
  • Guest Service experience (Quick-service, retail, hospitality) preferred
  • Past working experience in a supervisory role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee VIP Menu standards, food safety, and product quality.
  • Assume a hands-on role during peak periods to ensure speed of service and quality standards.
  • Review daily guest service challenges to enhance operational execution.
  • Coordinate cast responsibilities during shifts.
  • Coach, train, and mentor cast members, providing immediate feedback.
  • Collaborate with the entire team, including the General Manager, to foster learning and problem-solving.
  • Support Front of House (FOH) operations when needed.
  • Work towards theatre metric goals by reviewing execution and recognizing success.
  • Support audit and loss prevention control systems.
  • Coordinate and follow up on equipment maintenance and cleaning protocols.
  • Encourage high performance through ongoing development of Cast Members and Cast Leaders.
  • Monitor and provide observations on cast behavior and performance to salaried management.
  • Assist with organizing and encouraging participation in cast events.
  • Initiate and maintain individual communication to increase motivation, engagement, and retention.
  • Provide feedback on individuals with potential for advancement.
  • Actively participate in recruiting efforts, including conducting and facilitating interviews.
  • Escalate issues with VIP Cast Members to salaried VIP management.
  • Interact regularly with guests to understand their expectations.
  • Oversee the presentation of all food items to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain high visibility, professionalism, and accessibility to guests.
  • Coach, cross-train, and cross-utilize cast to deliver optimum service standards.
  • Address guest concerns swiftly and professionally, focusing on food service quality and presentation.
  • Deliver high-quality service in all areas.
  • Conduct frequent walkthroughs using building assessment tools.
  • Ensure the theatre is staffed to meet business requirements and adjust as needed.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety standards and procedures are met.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are safe and locked out if necessary.
  • Ensure employees receive training in safe work practices.
  • Report all injuries and near misses to the management team and submit incident reports.
  • Oversee and ensure all cast follow health and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Effectively follow all Cineplex values, policies, and procedures, role-modeling company culture.
  • Effectively execute promotions, rentals, and special events from a culinary perspective.
  • Support theatre operations according to corporate standards.
  • Provide feedback on the execution of third-party contracts.
  • Communicate theatre information upward, downward, and across.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports accurately.
  • Provide recommendations to increase revenues, efficiency, or improve profitability.
  • Assist the theatre in achieving budgetary requirements.
  • Support the execution of corporate initiatives related to key business units.
