This position is responsible for providing awareness education, training, intervention, and outreach services to community organizations and agencies about sexual assault and domestic violence, its impact on individuals, families and the community; and building healthy, non-violent alternatives. May also work with survivors, family members, and secondary survivors providing empowerment focused education and support. The goal for the Advocate for Violence Prevention is to empower individuals and communities with knowledge and tools to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault, support survivors and create a community of safety and respect.
