About The Position

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), part of the Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), is seeking an experienced Vintage US Coin Grader. NGC is the world's leading and largest third-party coin certification service, having graded over 55 million coins. The selected candidate will be trained using NGC’s standards for numismatic grading and will be expected to display a high level of accuracy, integrity, self-motivation, and the ability to work within a team environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of technical numismatic knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of various eras of minting techniques, metal alloys, counterfeit detection and coin alteration.
• Ability to accurately and consistently grade rare and collectible coins by using the Sheldon Coin Grading Scale.
• Experience in variety attribution and authentication.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business functions.

Responsibilities

• Grade rare and collectible coins using the Sheldon Coin Grading Scale.
• Detect counterfeit and altered coins.
• Attribute varieties and authenticate coins.
• Travel domestically and internationally for business functions.
