About The Position

BridgeVoice Interpreters is seeking an experienced Vietnamese Interpreter for an onsite District Court assignment in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on September 15. This is a high-impact contract opportunity for a professional interpreter with strong Vietnamese and English language skills. The ideal candidate will have legal or court interpreting experience and be comfortable providing accurate, impartial interpretation in a formal courtroom environment. As a Vietnamese Interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication between Vietnamese-speaking individuals and English-speaking court personnel and other parties involved in the proceedings. The interpreter must accurately convey meaning, tone, and intent while maintaining strict confidentiality, neutrality, and professional boundaries. This assignment is onsite only and requires travel to the District Court in Sulphur Springs, TX.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Vietnamese and English.
• Professional interpreting experience required.
• Strong consecutive interpreting skills; simultaneous interpreting experience is a plus.
• Excellent listening, memory retention, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, neutrality, and impartiality.
• Ability to maintain professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Reliable transportation to Sulphur Springs, TX.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Legal or court interpreting experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience interpreting in courtrooms, hearings, depositions, or other legal environments.
• Formal legal or court interpreter training.
• Professional interpreter certification or credential.
• Familiarity with legal and court terminology.
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation between Vietnamese and English during court proceedings.
• Interpret legal terminology, courtroom dialogue, instructions, questions, and responses accurately.
• Preserve the meaning, tone, and intent of all communication without adding, omitting, or altering information.
• Maintain strict confidentiality, impartiality, and professional boundaries.
• Remain composed and accurate in a formal, fast-paced court environment.
• Arrive on time and fully prepared for the scheduled assignment.
• Communicate professionally with court personnel, clients, and BridgeVoice Interpreters coordinators.
• Follow applicable professional interpreter ethics and standards of practice.
• Complete required assignment documentation and time records.
