Radio-Canada Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec is seeking a videojournalist to be based in Drummondville. Reporting to the Associate Managing Editor, Dominique Panebianco, you’ll focus on gathering and presenting daily news stories that deeply resonate with audiences across the Centre-du-Québec region. Most of the content produced will be digital and will be published on the Info app and all other relevant Radio-Canada platforms. To succeed in this role, you must have a sharp talent for both text-based and vertical video storytelling. You’ll need to be self-reliant and do your own newsgathering (videos, photos, interviews, etc.) using your phone and/or light professional equipment. We’re looking for a creative, resourceful, thorough and highly independent journalist who excels at breaking down complex information for the public. You must also be able to thrive under pressure, conduct your own research and newsgathering, and confidently package and present your material across multiple platforms. This position requires a flexible schedule (including irregular hours) and the ability to travel throughout the coverage area in a Radio-Canada vehicle. You’ll bring fresh perspectives and creative approaches to our newscasts, working independently to deliver original, high-quality journalism. You may be asked to cover stories for our other platforms and will have to work flexible hours, often independently. Weekend work may be required.
