About The Position

The Videographer will play a key role in elevating Halton Healthcare’s digital media and communications strategy. This role is responsible for planning, capturing, editing, and delivering high-quality video and multimedia content that aligns with the organization’s communications standards, brand, and objectives. As a member of the Communications and Public Affairs team, the Videographer will produce engaging visual content for use across the website, social media channels, internal and external communications, and other digital platforms. This includes overseeing video production from concept development through filming, editing, and final delivery, ensuring all content is accurate, accessible, and appropriate for a healthcare environment. This role is ideal for an independent and experienced videographer who excels in video storytelling, production, and post-production. The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating clear, goal-driven visual content. They will take initiative in managing video projects, coordinating shoots, and producing compelling multimedia materials that support patient education, team engagement, and community outreach.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Video Production, Film, Media Production, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a recognized equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in video production, digital storytelling, or communications, preferably within healthcare, public sector, or complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in video production and post-production, with a strong understanding of filming techniques, lighting, audio capture, editing workflows, and storytelling.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard video editing and production tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Strong ability to tell compelling stories through video, visuals, audio, and supporting written content, with an understanding of how to engage, inform, and educate diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience managing multiple video and content projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of branding, visual identity, and design principles to ensure consistency across all video and digital materials.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgement to make informed decisions in fast-paced and high-pressure environments, including during time-sensitive communications.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization, including collaborating with clinical staff, leaders, and communications professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Highly developed verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas, concepts, and creative approaches to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with a range of digital platforms and technologies, including websites, internal channels, and content management systems; familiarity with social and digital distribution is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and development of high-quality video, photography and visual content for digital platforms, including the website, social media channels, internal and external communications, and projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, shoot, and edit Halton Healthcare’s video content, including, corporate projects, interviews, staff and professional staff profiles, patient stories, social media content, and more.
  • Work with teams, partners and stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into engaging video and multimedia content.
  • See video production from concept development through filming, editing, and final delivery, ensuring content aligns with brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and healthcare best practices.
  • Build and maintain a strong library of video and media assets, including b-roll and archival footage, to support ongoing and future content needs.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of content and production schedule.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in video production, editing and digital storytelling.
  • Support meaningful, patient- and people-centered storytelling that drives engagement and can be adapted for use across digital and traditional media.
  • Contribute to the development of digital content strategies by providing video and visual storytelling expertise.
  • Support the creation of the annual Digital Media Plan and content calendar, ensuring video content aligns with the overall Communications Strategy.
  • Apply an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) lens to all video and digital content, ensuring diverse and inclusive representation.
  • Support the evaluation of video and multimedia content performance across digital platforms.
  • Provide insights and reporting on video effectiveness to help inform future content planning.
  • Contribute to the development and measurement of departmental performance indicators related to digital content.
  • Build strong relationships to tell Halton’s story through front-line staff, team members, community partners, leaders and key initiatives.
