  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut Pro, with a strong understanding of hooks, pacing, sound design, and platform-specific vertical-video practices.

  • Prior experience shooting content for a team, league, club, or sports brand.
  • A reliable system for media cards, backups, folder structure, and file naming.
  • Own or have access to a professional camera setup, such as a mirrorless or cinema camera body, lenses, audio equipment, and basic lighting.
  • Based in Houston, Texas, with reliable transportation to shoots across the Houston metro area.
  • U.S. work authorization required.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly and proactively.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency using AI tools in a professional editing workflow, such as Premiere Pro’s MCP integration, Claude Code, or Google Flow, to generate rough cuts, captions, and platform variations, and to review and refine outputs to a publishable standard.
  • Ability to create graphics, lower thirds, and animated text in After Effects or directly in an editing application.
  • Basic photography knowledge and ability to switch between photography and video when needed.
  • Comfort conducting short interviews with athletes, coaches, or parents.

Responsibilities

  • Capture video at youth sports tournaments, practices, games, and brand events across Houston and surrounding areas, planning coverage to produce multiple usable pieces of content.

  • Edit short-form vertical Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts, including pacing, sound design, captions, and on-screen text tailored to each platform.
  • Organize footage, maintain file backups, and manage a searchable archive of raw and edited assets.
  • Track social trends, viral formats, and editing techniques and apply them to content.
  • Deliver same-day or next-day edits of event content.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the school at filming locations and communicate campus updates, schedule changes, standout students and coaches, and story ideas to the social media team.
