About The Position
WBBJ-TV is the local ABC, CBS, and ME TV station for West Tennessee. The Station is the number one source for news, weather, and sports within our coverage area. The Station is an ideal place for journalists to begin their careers, with several of our former employees now working in large markets across the Country. This role involves shooting and editing stories for a variety of newscasts and streaming platforms, handling live remotes for news, sports, and weather events, and assisting the News Production team in other positions during live broadcasts and taped shows. Candidates will shoot and edit assigned events, cover events by themselves and/or with the Station's on-air talent. They must be proficient in obtaining quality video and editing under a deadline, and also be able to cover Breaking News and Severe Weather events.
Requirements
- Experience in news production or broadcast media
- Strong videography and non‑linear digital editing skills
- Solid work ethic and commitment to journalistic integrity
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle
Nice To Haves
- Communications or broadcast-related degree preferred (not required)
