About The Position

The Videographer will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that highlights the San Antonio Zoo’s mission, exhibits, events, and educational initiatives. This individual will produce, edit, and deliver high-quality video assets for digital platforms, social media, and marketing campaigns, helping to engage audiences and enhance the zoo’s brand presence. As a Videographer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by: Plan, shoot, and edit video content for marketing campaigns, social media, website, and internal use. Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize and execute creative video strategies that align with organizational goals. Produce videos featuring animals, habitats, events, and behind-the-scenes stories, ensuring accuracy and adherence to zoo policies. Maintain and organize video equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition. Manage pre-production and post-production processes, including scripting, storyboarding, color grading, sound editing, and motion graphics. Stay updated on video production trends and technologies to enhance content quality and engagement. Work with other departments to capture footage for various needs, including educational programs, fundraising efforts, and special events. Ensure videos comply with brand guidelines and deliver on time. Archive and manage digital assets for future use. Consistently exhibit an attitude of service inside and outside of the zoo, showing hospitality to all. Be fully committed to the mission of San Antonio Zoo to create awareness that inspires action to care for the wild world we steward and animals we protect. Other Responsibilities: Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Multimedia, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional videography and editing experience, preferably in a marketing or non-profit setting.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro.
  • Strong knowledge of video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear.
  • Ability to tell engaging stories through video that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around animals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Portfolio of previous work demonstrating creativity and technical expertise.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed including weekends as needed
  • Customer service oriented and enjoys helping others
  • Organized and effective at prioritizing their time
  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with motion graphics and visual effects is a plus.
