About The Position

KCTV5 is looking for someone with an eye for news and the creativity to tell stories through the lens of their camera. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, possess good communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This role involves gathering video, interviews, and information, editing for broadcast and digital/social platforms, setting up and executing live shots, and utilizing knowledge of ENG cameras and cellular live broadcast devices (Live U).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of prior Videography experience in a TV Newsroom
• Non-linear editing experience
• LIVEU proficiency
• Proven ability to post content on social media platforms
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Flexible schedule with on-call assignments
• MVR check in pre-employment

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in journalism, TV production, or related field- equivalent experience considered

Responsibilities

• Gathering video and sound for stories on multiple platforms
• Shoot daily live shots
• Editing stories for television, web, and social media
• Contribute to the entire editorial process, including sourcing, enterprise, gathering, story construction, and presentation.
