About The Position

Hanzo is seeking an obsessive creative to lead its entire content operation, moving beyond outdated content strategies to produce engaging, scroll-stopping content. This individual will be responsible for the full lifecycle of content creation, including shooting, editing, writing compelling hooks, and establishing Hanzo's social media identity. The role requires a deep understanding of modern social media dynamics, the ability to leverage AI effectively, and a commitment to continuous testing and adjustment based on analytics. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives with significant creative control and independence, operating within a casual, friendly, and family-focused work environment that values individuality. The position is not merely a videographer or editor role, but a comprehensive content leadership position.

  • You don't need a creative brief to know what good looks like.
  • Demonstrated expertise in content creation with a proven track record of creating and executing content, providing concrete examples.
  • Measurable performance results, documenting content that has achieved significant engagement and reach with specific metrics and analytics data.
  • Strong creative instincts and technical proficiency, possessing refined aesthetic judgment and the technical range to execute across multiple formats and styles, understanding content strategy at a fundamental level.
  • Independent creative decision-making, not requiring extensive creative briefs or approval processes to identify and execute high-quality content, with a clear understanding of what constitutes effective content.

Responsibilities

  • Fly to a different city most weeks and shoot content that actually makes people stop scrolling
  • Cut short-form and long-form — and know the difference in your sleep
  • Write the hooks
  • Build Hanzo's identity on social from the studs up — voice, rhythm, recurring bits, the whole world
  • Use AI where it multiplies you, ignore it where it flattens you
  • Test, watch, adjust, repeat — until Hanzo is the brand people send to each other unprompted
