About The Position
WVLT-TV is seeking a driven storyteller who understands that photography is more than just capturing shots and that a microphone is a tool for gathering sound to immerse the audience. As an editor, you will be able to take a script and enhance it with natural sound and compelling visuals, whether gathered in the field or provided by visual journalists.
Requirements
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Must have a clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- Experience in video photography and non-linear editing preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Sony PXW200/300 and Edius 9 is a plus
- Spanish speaking is a plus
Responsibilities
- Shooting videos and stills for digital platforms and gathering information in the field
- Operating laptop editors as well as live portable technology in the field
- Collaborating with reporters and producers on stories
- Maintaining equipment and vehicles as assigned by newsroom managers
- Editing rundowns to provide quality and dynamic newscasts for our audience
