About The Position

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a creative, collaborative Videographer and Video Editor to help produce high-quality videos about water, sustainability, and the infrastructure that supports communities. This role combines hands-on production and post-production support for both Hazen corporate projects and client-facing work, capturing polished footage, editing select projects, and preparing media for collaborative workflows.

As an employee-owned firm founded in 1951, Hazen values creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. This role is part of Hazen’s creative video team, working alongside producers, editors, animators, engineers, and communicators to translate technical topics into polished video content for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional video production, videography, and/or video editing experience.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and related Adobe Creative Suite tools; familiarity with After Effects preferred.
• Ability to capture professional interview and b-roll footage, including framing, lighting, exposure, audio levels, and equipment setup.
• Strong understanding of editing, pacing, story structure, color correction, sound design, and graphic integration.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with producers, editors, animators, engineers, and stakeholders, including taking direction and incorporating feedback.
• Ability and willingness to travel regionally and nationally up to 20% to capture on-location interviews, b-roll, and project site footage.
• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in video production, film, communications, visual arts, or a related field.
• Experience filming in corporate, technical, engineering, environmental, or scientific settings.
• Familiarity with motion graphics, basic animation, or visual effects workflows that enhance live-action video.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality interviews, b-roll, and project footage independently or as part of a small crew, preparing media for use by editors and other post-production team members.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize video production gear to support efficient, professional field shoots and smooth post-shoot wrap-up.
• Edit rough and final cuts in Adobe Premiere Pro based on scripts, creative direction, and stakeholder feedback.
• Edit across a broad spectrum of formats, ranging from in-depth mini-documentaries, client case studies, and corporate explainers to punchy, fast-paced cutdowns optimized for social media.
• Translate complex engineering or scientific topics into clear, engaging stories through editing, pacing, graphics, and sound design.
• Color correct, finesse audio, and add graphics or motion elements to elevate video quality and support the Hazen brand.
• Organize footage, project files, and media assets to support efficient editing and collaborative post-production workflows.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently under deadlines.
