About The Position

The Surveillance Operator uses a variety of tools that can range from enterprise access control and alarm monitoring systems/CCTV and other tools to respond and alert internal and external customers regarding adverse conditions that may affect operations, staff, facilities, and properties.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively use or learn computer systems CCTV and Networked Video Systems, Alarm monitoring systems, Telephone, and Instant Messaging systems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Open-Source searches)
  • Exposure to data visualization and mapping platforms
  • Proficient with social media platforms including, but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
  • Excellent customer service focused attitude

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check and/or obtain security clearances as required by the client and employer.
  • Must be able to pass any required training or other qualifications for employment.
  • Must be able to pass and complete employer mandated training (on-line learning modules, in-class and virtual training as required)
  • 1-2 years of experience working in one or more of the following environments: Commercial or Corporate security environments involving 24/7 monitoring and escalation processes. Security/Emergency/Response based dispatch/operations center services involving direct interaction with callers and dispatched personnel.
  • Advanced communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and de-escalate and re-direct telephone conversations to quickly identify and take action to resolve incidents.
  • Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and skills development.
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • 12-18 months of experience desired, prior military //law enforcement preferred, open source/computer investigations.
  • Must have valid State issued driver's license at hire and throughout employment.
  • All legally required licenses and permits necessary to perform the job in the State of operation, before and throughout assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security cameras, access control, alarms, and other tools.
  • Oversee various recording of communications and events.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of and proficiency in the operation of video monitor console equipment and related logging procedures and location of cameras.
  • Prepare and maintain logs, observation reports, and other data in a manner prescribed by the Surveillance Division Policies and procedures.
  • Perform quality assurance functions to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Ensure that all evidence materials are properly maintained including but not limited to, reports, video footage and photographs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate decisions and exercise action during high tension stressful situations.
  • Monitor CCTV and access control systems for a network of facilities across multiple locations.
  • Confirm incident and crisis situations.
  • Execute multiple SOPs.
  • Provide superior customer service.
  • Identify and communicate potential threats to assets under company protection.
  • Identify and respond to emergency situations with a sense of urgency.
  • Complete incident reports and support investigations.
  • Analyze & review video to support security operations and investigations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
