About The Position

The Video Production Instructor is responsible for leading students in daily video production workshops, including seminars in writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and graphics. Instructors will work with students in the field as they write, shoot, and edit one or more short films. Responsibilities include supervising campers both in and out of the classroom, guiding campers through the filmmaking process, and offering feedback in one-on-one sessions as needed. Instructors will also be responsible for tracking student work, handing in any deliverables to the camp director, and executing a screening showcasing student work at the end of camp. Instructors should have some professional experience in film and video production and be enthusiastic about guiding students through the filmmaking process. In addition to teaching responsibilities, instructors should be available and willing to assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks. Instructors should be mature, reliable, and able to work well with fellow staffers. Instructors are also expected to act as mentors and will help lead field trips and guide students on excursions. With the support of the entire staff, instructors are responsible for the health and safety of students, in addition to fulfilling instructional objectives. This is a residential position — room, board, and parking on campus are provided for the duration of the program. We will also consider instructors who wish to commute daily but preference is given to those candidates who are willing to live on campus and assist with dorm supervision. Instructors may be hired for one session or for multiple sessions of this program. Please indicate your availability on your application.
