About The Position

Hendrick Automotive Group is looking for a driven, Video & Media Production Intern to join the Video & Media Production team at Hendrick University, our internal learning and development platform serving one of the nation's largest automotive groups. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on real productions from day one, build a professional portfolio, and learn the craft of corporate storytelling alongside an experienced team.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience — even personal projects — shooting video or photo with mirrorless, cinema, or professional hybrid cameras
  • Familiarity, or willingness to learn, with at least one NLE: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
  • A strong eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling
  • Organized, self-starting, and able to manage multiple tasks across active projects
  • Comfortable taking part on set
  • Coachable and curious; you want to understand why, not just how
  • A desire to learn the automotive industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic Computer skills in order to utilize the company timekeeping system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry production equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to set up, transport, and break down camera gear, lighting equipment, and audio systems
  • Ability to stand, walk, or remain on location for extended periods during shoots
  • Ability to work in varied environments including indoor studios, outdoor locations, and live event settings
  • Ability to operate camera equipment requiring sustained fine motor control and visual acuity
  • Bending, kneeling, and crouching may be required when positioning equipment or shooting at low angles
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with drone operation (DJI or similar) — FAA Part 107 certification is a plus
  • Basic color grading or audio mixing experience
  • Familiarity with Lightroom or similar photo editing tools
  • Comfort with both run-and-gun and controlled studio environments
  • Any experience assisting on live event productions

Responsibilities

  • Assist in filming training videos, event coverage, documentary-style interviews, and social media content
  • Support photo shoots for internal communications, editorial portraits, and event documentation
  • Participate in pre-production — shot lists, location scouts, gear prep, and scheduling
  • Assist with video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve, including rough cuts and basic color work
  • Learn how to manage and organize media assets using professional DAM platforms
  • Observe and contribute to live production environments, including studio setups with PTZ cameras and professional switcher workflows
  • Help capture and edit content for distribution across social media and internal channels
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
  • Participates in required training
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
