Video Lead

ConsumerAffairs•Tulsa, OK

About The Position

ConsumerAffairs is hiring an energetic, creative, and focused AI Native Video Content Lead to build and run its first in-house video pod from a dedicated space in the Tulsa office. The pod will include an on-camera host and script writer, a video producer, and outside editors. It will create video content for a category across paid advertising, organic social platforms, and lifecycle marketing. This is a pilot intended to establish a model that can later scale to additional categories. The role suits someone who can develop viral ideas, work confidently across video formats, edit when needed, and ensure every video has a defined platform, format, and hook before production begins. The position offers an opportunity to grow into leading a larger video team as the pod model expands. This is an in-office position, and only candidates local to Tulsa will be considered.

Requirements

  • About 3 years of experience creating or leading social video for a brand, creator, publisher, or agency.
  • A portfolio of videos the candidate has led, with performance numbers to support the work.
  • Experience making paid social ad creative for Meta, YouTube, or TikTok and testing variants against performance metrics.
  • Understanding of how video supports lifecycle marketing, including email, retargeting, and onboarding.
  • Ability to explain how YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram algorithms determine distribution and how that affects hooks, length, and retention.
  • Deep knowledge of short-form, long-form, and paid video formats.
  • Video editing proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
  • Experience directing or providing feedback to other creatives or freelancers.
  • Regular use of AI tools for research, ideation, scripting, and editing.
  • Comfort testing, iterating, and learning from performance data.
  • Interest in growing and helping build a larger team as the pod model scales.
  • Must be local to Tulsa; the role is in-office.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable on camera and open to hosting.
  • Experience with consumer, product review, or how-to content.

Responsibilities

  • Run the video pod day to day, owning the content calendar, setting priorities, and keeping output moving.
  • Own video strategy for the category across paid, organic social, and lifecycle content.
  • Build each category’s full asset library, including finished videos, b-roll, GIFs, and images for paid, content, and lifecycle use.
  • Produce and test paid ad creative, including hooks, variants, and lengths, with the paid media team; iterate based on results.
  • Create video for lifecycle touchpoints such as email, retargeting, and onsite journeys, working with the lifecycle team.
  • Maintain a pipeline of video ideas informed by what is working on YouTube, Shorts, TikTok, Reels, and Reddit.
  • Ensure every video has a clear platform and format destination and a hook before it goes to script.
  • Supervise and coach the host/script writer and video producer in person; review scripts, storyboards, and cuts.
  • Edit when needed, from quick social cut-downs to final polish.
  • Work with the video producer to set up the Tulsa studio and manage outside editors through Upwork.
  • Track performance weekly across organic, paid, and lifecycle; stop what is not working and expand what is.
  • Document the pod’s playbook, including formats, workflows, briefs, and QA, so it can be replicated in new categories.
  • Collaborate with editorial, SEO, PR, paid media, and lifecycle teams.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision health care plan.
