About The Position

Victory Learning Center programs offer specialized educational services for students who are diagnosed with Autism or a Cognitive Disability paired with a mental-health diagnosis. There are two separate sites conveniently located in Lackawanna, NY, with a third opening in September 2026. Our sites service students ages 5-21, who are residentially placed or are referred through their local school district's Committee on Special Education.

Requirements

High School Diploma Required
Bachelor's Degree in Education required
3-5 years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Physical Education & Health Bachelor’s degree required
1-2 years working with individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental health involvement
1-2 years teaching experience
Bachelor's Degree
1-2 years working with individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental health involvement
1-2 years teaching experience
Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology/Communication Disorders
1-2 years of experience is required
Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification in NYS
Valid NYS SLP Licensure
Valid NYS Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree preferred
Previous working experience working with Autistic clients preferred, but not required.

NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education must be obtained within one year

Responsibilities

Delivery of evidence-based methods to support individuals with Autism and/or Intellectual Disability and mental health involvement.
Applied Behavior Analysis approaches; classroom observation; observation in residential setting; data collection; supporting staff to implement individual behavior protocols and behavior intervention plans; and treatment integrity monitoring.
Regular assistance with personal hygiene tasks is required.
Individual may also be assigned to one or more special projects including administrative and organization tasks associated with these assignments.
Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental illness in a variety of educational settings.
Creation and oversight of an instructional environment utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis methodology.
Creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in physical education for students with disabilities.
Creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in Music for students with disabilities.
Provide speech/language therapy services to individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability and/or mental illness as outlined in their Individual Education Plan.
Services are to be provided in accordance with New York State practice act guidelines for Speech/Language Therapy Services, the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as in accordance with all company, state and federal standards and regulations; as well as within all regulations and requirements set forth by the organizations with which the company collaborates.
