About The Position

The role of the Victim Services Program Manager is critical in ensuring that our organization effectively supports victims of crime and trauma. This position will lead and oversee programs designed to provide emotional, legal, and logistical assistance to victims, fostering their recovery and reintegration into the community. The manager will be responsible for establishing, operating, and sustaining the department’s law enforcement-based Victim Services Unit.

Requirements

  • Awareness of therapy and counseling including the principles, methods, diagnosis, and treatment for behavioral disorders and response to trauma.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four (4) years of related experience or Associate’s degree and two (2) years of related experience can be substituted for the required education.
  • Three (3) years related work experience including one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Applicants must meet the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) access eligibility criteria as contained in the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems Security Policy.
  • Must maintain TLETS access eligibility for continued employment in position.
  • TLETS Basic Eligibility Criteria
  • Valid driver’s license from any state.
  • Must be able to obtain a Texas driver’s license and have an acceptable driving history.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in mental health oriented science or in a field related to the job.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Alternate licensing may be considered.
  • Experience in the victim services or criminal justice related fields.
  • Related experience in a clinical social work setting may be substituted if a direct link to law enforcement services.
  • Completion of the ACC Supervisor Certificate Series Program will satisfy the supervisory experience required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Establish goals and objectives; develop guidelines, policies, and procedures; develop schedules, priorities, and standards to achieve established goals.
  • Interview victims individually, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services are required to meet their needs.
  • Establish processes to support victims with family services, guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, mental health services, and other contacts.
  • Advocate for individual and community needs.
  • Develop trauma-informed training.
  • Research best practices for colleges across the United States.
  • Develop and evaluate budget requests; monitor budget expenditures.
  • Coordinate and evaluate program activities.
  • Leverage data to inform strategic planning and continuous process improvement.
  • Prepare reports and briefings for executive leadership.
  • Ensure program outcomes align with institutional strategic priorities.
  • Perform routine managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the victim services unit.
  • Exercise managerial supervision over assigned staff, establishing goals, policies, procedures, schedules, and priorities.
  • Oversee program operations, budgeting, and performance management.
