About The Position

As a Victim Advocate Specialist with the Grand Junction Police Department, you will provide on-scene crisis intervention, support victims of crime through follow up intervention, provide referral to various community agencies, offer emotional support and information about the criminal justice system, act as a liaison between victims and witnesses and law enforcement officers, prosecutors, social services agencies and officials of the court. You will work in tandem with the volunteers in the Victim Services unit to offer trauma informed crisis support. The Grand Junction Police Department's Victim Services Unit serves victims of crime through exemplary customer service. We have a positive relationship with our community and we strive to be leaders in our field. We work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and non-profit service providers to best meet the needs of those we serve. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor, and a deep passion for victim advocacy.
