This position coordinates and supervises the County’s Victim Advocate Program, including program planning and implementation. The role involves assisting victims with various needs, attending court with them, and liaising with other agencies. A key aspect is supervising victim advocates, which includes interviewing candidates, arranging training, and overseeing their work. The coordinator is also responsible for data entry (VAMS), gathering statistics, reporting on progress, reviewing inmate files and victim notification forms, and maintaining availability for advocates and victims during and after regular work hours. Staying current on laws concerning victims and task forces is also a requirement. The position may involve performing other duties as assigned.
