About The Position

The Vicksburg Part-time Night Proctor is responsible for maintaining knowledge of best proctoring practices, diversity-related issues, and legislation. This role provides a safe and effective testing environment that protects the integrity of testing and testing content. The proctor will illustrate excellent customer service to all test-takers, colleagues, and test providers, and honor the code of conduct as it relates to Hinds Community College and test providers. All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students. This position involves working evenings and requires preparing workstations and the testing lab for assessment functions and testing, ensuring test-takers do not load any software on computers, and maintaining a clean testing lab.

Requirements

  • AA or AS Degree
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Ability to prepare workstations and testing lab.
  • Regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, taste, and smell.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Actively proctor test-takers during testing in the computer lab.
  • Ensure that test-takers do not load any software on computers.
  • Maintain a clean testing lab and its need of resources to conduct business as an efficient testing lab.
  • Prepare workstations and testing lab for assessment functions and testing.
