About The Position

We are searching for a dynamic and collaborative Vice Principal to join the IB Campus Leadership Team. This position plays a critical role in supporting instructional excellence, student culture, and staff development within our middle and high school International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The Vice Principal is a key member of the IB Campus Leadership Team. As a member of the team, the Vice Principal works collaboratively to set school-wide goals, develop action plans for implementation, and reflect on progress – all while staying true to the mission of School Lane. The Vice Principal is supervised directly by the IB Campus Principal. This person is responsible for supporting the curriculum and instruction, culture, and discipline at the IB Campus. The ideal candidate for this position will act as the mentor to all teaching staff and provide support in effective teaching practices and classroom management. They will promote the building of a culture of caring, inquiry, and life-long learning where students will feel safe to explore their world through thought provoking questions, dynamic discussion, and real world, inquiry based and project/problem-based learning scenarios. This position requires significant independent analysis and problem solving skills, as well as an in-depth working knowledge of diverse teaching strategies, best practices for effective classroom management, formal teacher observation and evaluation, and thorough understanding of the educational and social development of students in the middle and high school years.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or higher
  • A minimum of five years’ teaching experience at the middle or high school level
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Principal Certification
  • Demonstrated competence in curriculum design, development, and implementation
  • Experience with IB Middle Years Program
  • Experience in charter schools
  • Proficiency in using student performance data to drive instructional decisions
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to restorative practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Understanding and commitment to inclusive schooling
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Strong researching, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all students, staff, parents, and community organizations
  • Successful completion of criminal, child abuse, and FBI background checks
  • Successful completion of reference checks
  • Successful completion of required drug testing
