About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Vice President to lead its Government Solutions Division, a $200 million portfolio with 550 people serving HHS and VA. The leader will set the Division’s strategy and translate it into executable plans, while anticipating the direction of federal missions and ensuring operational delivery across contracts.

Requirements

  • 15 or more years of experience running significant federal program portfolios.
  • A degree or equivalent experience.
  • Command of multiple contract types, including CPFF, FFP, FPLOE, and T&M, and the ability to manage resources across them.
  • A proven record of growing a business over multiple years across customers, people, programs, financials, and new business.
  • Demonstrated wins in on-contract growth, recompetes, takeaways, and new business across more than one federal market.
  • Ability to lead a diverse workforce of employees and subcontractors and work effectively across organizational lines.
  • A record of influencing at every level to move an organization forward, not merely manage it.
  • Ability to identify talent and develop future leaders.
  • Strong communication skills in boardroom discussions and written materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships across the Division’s federal customer base.
  • A history of entering new accounts through deliberate capture strategy.
  • Strong market foresight and knowledge of business models that can position the organization to enter markets early.
  • Familiarity with program and project management maturity frameworks such as CMMI and ITIL.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape and relationships that support teaming partnerships.
  • A master’s degree in business or a related technical or scientific field.

Responsibilities

  • Set the Division’s strategic direction and translate it into actionable plans.
  • Partner with Business Development to pursue and win new business, rather than focusing only on existing work.
  • Coordinate with other parts of Leidos to strengthen current contracts and enter adjacent markets.
  • Own the Division’s P&L, including cost, schedule, KPIs, and annual operating plan commitments across contracts.
  • Coach division managers, raise execution standards, and develop future leaders.
  • Promote a culture of high retention, high performance, and high integrity.
