About The Position

The Vice President, Accounts Receivable Optimization is responsible for leading enterprise-wide Accounts Receivable transformation initiatives for health system clients, focused on accelerating cash, improving revenue yield, reducing aged receivables, and optimizing reimbursement performance. The Vice President, Accounts Receivable Optimization partners with client leadership and internal operations and analytics teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop data-driven strategies, and implement sustainable operational changes across the back-end revenue cycle. The Vice President, Accounts Receivable Optimization serves as a strategic advisor and transformation leader, leveraging analytics, industry best practices, workflow redesign, automation, and technology to improve financial outcomes while enhancing operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role within revenue cycle services required, preferably in a healthcare hospital-based healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle management principles and practices, with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality services to clients
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal governmental, legal, and regulatory provisions related to front-end, middle and backend revenue cycle operations
  • Proficiency in revenue cycle management systems, electronic health records (EHR), and client management tools
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide Accounts Receivable transformation initiatives across health system clients to improve financial performance and operational excellence
  • Develop and execute strategic AR optimization roadmaps focused on cash acceleration, revenue yield, and sustainable performance improvement
  • Identify, prioritize, and quantify opportunities using data analytics, benchmarking, and operational assessments
  • Drive initiatives that reduce aged accounts receivable, improve collection velocity, and increase reimbursement
  • Partner with internal and client leadership to establish transformation priorities, governance, and measurable success metrics
  • Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives to improve denials management, underpayment recovery, complex claims resolution, and payer performance
  • Develop and standardize best practices, playbooks, and operating models for AR optimization across client engagements
  • Monitor executive dashboards and KPI scorecards related to AR performance, cash collections, aging trends, and transformation outcomes
  • Lead and/or participate in Joint Operating Committees (JOCs), and client steering committees to review progress, address barriers, and ensure accountability
  • Drive payer-specific improvement strategies by analyzing denial trends, contract compliance, reimbursement performance, and escalation opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost-to-collect through workflow optimization, standardization, and resource alignment
  • Stay current on healthcare reimbursement trends, payer policy changes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to enhance client solutions
  • Measure and communicate the financial impact of transformation initiatives, including cash acceleration, revenue yield improvement, cost savings, and return on investment
  • Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
  • Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
