About The Position

MDLinx, an M3 company, is hiring a Vice President, Technology and Product to build and launch next-generation physician engagement products and services. This builder role combines product and engineering leadership, with an emphasis on understanding physicians and pharmaceutical clients, developing useful engagement experiences, and measuring impact. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the VP will oversee technology initiatives, manage product and engineering teams, and architect scalable solutions for timely, relevant experiences for US healthcare professionals. The role leads product, design, and engineering as an integrated team and owns the process from discovery and design through development, release, and iteration. It also involves using AI-native development to prototype rapidly and working with stakeholders through prototypes. The VP will own the product vision and roadmap across physician-facing and pharma engagement products; lead rapid experimentation and a forward-deployed engineering model; oversee application development and data engineering; and direct AI capabilities, first-party data strategy, platform architecture, and technical direction. The position operates with substantial autonomy within M3 USA engineering standards and its technology plan.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in product and engineering.
  • 5+ years leading product, design, and engineering as one integrated team, with managers reporting to you.
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1, from first idea through first paying customers, as a founder, early employee, or leader of a new venture within a larger company, with specific measurable results.
  • Experience building engagement products with proven retention, including interactive, community, or personalized experiences, and evidence of their effect on return visits and depth of engagement.
  • Experience setting up and running a forward-deployed engineering model or comparable embedded model, with engineers working directly alongside clients and business stakeholders.
  • Experience making and owning architecture decisions for a high-traffic, highly available production platform using modern cloud and event-driven infrastructure.
  • Experience with AI coding agents as standard practice on teams, with evidence of their effect on cycle time and output.
  • Experience shipping production AI applications, recommendation systems, and real-time personalization to users, not only piloting them.
  • Experience with privacy-first first-party data practices, including event instrumentation, identity resolution, unified profiles, and customer data platform activation.
  • Experience with A/B testing, feature flags, rollback infrastructure, and the statistical judgment to distinguish real signal from noise.
  • Ability to distinguish engagement metrics from insight into what users know and believe.
  • Ability to keep teams small and fast, deliver in days rather than quarters, and hold teams accountable for outcomes that matter to physicians and clients.
  • Ability to make decisions about what to test next and act quickly on evidence by scaling, retiring, or redeploying.
  • Ability to treat Editorial, Sales, and Marketing as co-builders and explain technical tradeoffs clearly to engineers, physicians, pharma clients, and executives.
  • Ability to operate autonomously within a larger organization and move at startup speed within M3 USA standards.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the MDLinx product vision and roadmap across physician-facing experiences and pharma engagement products, leading product, design, and engineering as one team.
  • Develop new ways for pharma brands to reach and help physicians and create experiences physicians choose to return to.
  • Establish a rapid experimentation culture by prototyping, testing with physicians and clients, learning, and redeploying.
  • Spend regular time with physicians and pharma clients and use field learnings to shape product development.
  • Run a forward-deployed engineering model in which engineers work directly with internal business stakeholders and clients; turn useful client engagements into platform capabilities.
  • Scale successful experiments, retire unsuccessful ones, and redeploy people and code to new opportunities.
  • Lead application development and data engineering directly and through team leads.
  • Keep teams small, focused, and fast, and buy or reuse solutions when they are not differentiators.
  • Make AI-native development the default team workflow and ship AI capabilities such as personalization, recommendation, and content intelligence as core product features.
  • Build a platform that enables teams to launch, test, and roll back experiments without destabilizing core products.
  • Operate MDLinx product and technology with autonomy within M3 USA engineering standards and in alignment with the M3 USA technology plan.
  • Instrument product experiences to generate signals about physician knowledge, attitudes, and behavior.
  • Own the first-party data strategy with the data engineering team to support product and commercial needs.
  • Lead generative AI for content creation, summarization, curation, and medical literature analysis.
  • Build recommendation and real-time personalization engines, as well as predictive models for content affinity and engagement propensity.
  • Own technical direction and architecture using a modular, composable platform designed for rapid deployment and experimentation.
  • Architect infrastructure to capture, unify, and activate physician behavioral signals, including unified physician profiles, for product and commercial use.
