About The Position

The Vice President, Tax Operations Team will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IRS regulations related to US tax information reporting and international tax regimes such as Cayman Islands and Luxembourg. This role involves FATCA/CRS oversight, managing the team's direction and priorities for annual tax filings and ad hoc projects, and collaborating with Technology Solutions on system process improvements and quality control. The position also supports business groups under an established Service Level Agreement, works with Settlements and Operations to develop standardized information reporting processes, and provides data for tax filings. Collaboration with Accounting, Tax, and External Service Providers is key to producing tax filings, and the role partners with Administrators/Transfer Agents to ensure accurate investor tax reporting and withholding for externally administered funds. The position has supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related
  • Five years of relevant tax experience
  • Experience must include FATCA (Form 8966)
  • Experience must include IRS information reporting
  • Experience must include Tax form validation (W-9 & W-8 validation)
  • Concrete understanding of tax withholding requirements based on applicable jurisdictions

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations related to US tax information reporting
  • Ensure compliance with international tax regimes such as Cayman Islands and Luxembourg
  • FATCA / CRS Oversight
  • Oversight of the team’s direction and priorities with regards to annual tax filings deliverables and ad hoc projects
  • Collaborate with Technology Solutions on system process improvements and quality control
  • Support business groups (e.g., Investor Partner Group and Direct Lending) under an established Service Level Agreement to ensure continuity across all business processes (this includes tax form validation, addressing client inquiries, withholding and reporting)
  • Work with Settlements and Operations to develop and standardize an information reporting process involving 3rd party lenders for syndicated loans
  • Support Tax by providing data that is required to complete filings such as K-1, 1099 and 1042-S reporting
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Tax and External Service Provider to produce tax filings for US FATCA (Form 8966), Cayman Islands FATCA / CRS
  • Partner with Administrators / Transfer Agents to ensure accurate investor tax reporting and withholding is applied for externally administered funds
  • Collaborate with Technology Solutions on system process improvements and quality controls
  • Position has supervisory responsibilities
