About The Position

This is a leadership opportunity to build Lafayette's talent engine. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Vice President, Talent Acquisition & Talent Management will lead the strategy and execution of how Lafayette attracts exceptional talent, builds leadership pipelines, strengthens employee engagement, and prepares the organization for its next stage of growth. The successful candidate will inherit a solid foundation while having the opportunity to build new capabilities, modernize talent practices, and influence the employee experience across the organization. This role is for someone energized by building, creating, and shaping, not simply maintaining. Lafayette Federal is investing in its future. As the organization continues to grow, talent strategies must evolve alongside business strategy. This leader will play a critical role in helping to answer key questions such as: How do we become an employer of choice? How do we consistently attract exceptional talent? How do we build stronger leadership pipelines? How do we prepare today's employees for tomorrow's opportunities? How do we create an employee experience that inspires engagement, performance, and long-term commitment? This position offers the opportunity to influence these answers while building programs and strategies that will have a lasting impact across the organization.

Requirements

  • A proven record of building and leading high-performing talent acquisition organizations.
  • Experience expanding recruiting into broader talent management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success improving quality of hire, workforce planning, employee engagement, and succession readiness.
  • Experience recruiting for leadership and business-critical positions.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate organizational strategy into talent strategy.
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Experience leading through influence, collaboration, and change.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Candidates must be local to the Washington, DC metropolitan area and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of headquarters.
  • Must be able to meet the position's onsite work requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and professional HR certifications preferred.
  • Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously strengthen Lafayette Federal's talent acquisition strategy by creating innovative sourcing strategies and recruiting processes, elevating candidate experience, strengthening employment branding, building talent pipelines for critical and leadership positions, developing recruiting metrics that improve quality, efficiency, and long-term hiring success, and positioning Lafayette Federal as an employer of choice within the financial services industry and the communities we serve.
  • Lead the evolution of Lafayette Federal's talent management practices, including workforce planning, performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career pathing, employee engagement, and employee experience.
  • Ensure the organization has the right people in the right roles today while preparing the next generation of leaders for tomorrow.
  • Partner closely with leaders to understand workforce needs, strengthen organizational capability, and build practical talent solutions that support business objectives.
  • Work alongside the Vice President of HR Operations to align talent strategies with compensation, employee relations, payroll, and HR operations.
  • Work alongside the Vice President of Learning & Development to translate organizational capability needs into meaningful leadership and professional development programs.
  • Work alongside leaders throughout the Credit Union to strengthen workforce planning, employee engagement, and leadership readiness.
