About The Position

The Vice President, Strategic Innovation Partner is a newly created, enterprise-level role within Marketing, designed to elevate Thomson Reuters’ position as a leader in legal innovation and AI. This role serves as a senior external-facing advisor and internal catalyst—connecting market trends, customer priorities, and product innovation to drive top-of-funnel demand, strengthen executive relationships, and accelerate growth. Operating across segments, this leader will amplify TR’s voice in the market while serving as a high-impact resource that can be deployed into strategic customer situations when executive engagement is critical.

Requirements

  • Executive-level experience in legal, professional services, or legal technology

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a high-profile external face of Thomson Reuters at premier industry, customer, and partner events (conferences, executive forums, roundtables, and private client engagements)
  • Act as a thought leader on legal innovation, AI, and the future of the profession—delivering keynotes, moderating executive discussions, and shaping industry dialogue
  • Create and lead exclusive executive engagements (C-suite roundtables, innovation councils, client advisory boards) that deepen relationships and position TR as a strategic partner
  • Partner with Marketing to design and execute flagship events and targeted executive programs that drive pipeline creation, brand positioning, and account penetration
  • Develop compelling executive-level narratives and content that translate market trends and TR capabilities into clear business value
  • Build visibility with industry influencers, analysts, and partners to amplify TR’s market credibility
  • Leverage event participation as a growth lever—expanding executive access, generating qualified opportunities, and accelerating strategic deals
  • Serve as an enterprise-level resource who can be selectively deployed into priority accounts to elevate strategic conversations and unlock growth opportunities
  • Partner with Account Executives and Segment Innovation Partners to strengthen C-suite relationships (Managing Partners, CIOs, CKOs, CFOs, and equivalents)
  • Provide targeted advisory support on AI strategy, operating model evolution, and transformation roadmaps for high-value or complex opportunities
  • Engage early in the sales cycle (pre-POC) to help shape customer vision and align TR capabilities to strategic priorities
  • Act as an executive sponsor for select renewals and expansion efforts where senior-level engagement can accelerate outcomes
  • Support—but do not replace—Segment Innovation Partners as primary relationship owners, focusing on amplification at key inflection points
  • Help unblock complex situations or escalations, including those requiring product roadmap alignment
  • Advise clients on AI-enabled transformation, workflow redesign, and adoption strategies
  • Translate customer and market insights into actionable input for Product, Marketing, and GTM teams
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities to inform TR’s innovation and positioning strategy
