Vice President, Strategic Finance & Analytics

SunrunSan Francisco, CA
$192,334 - $256,445Hybrid

About The Position

The Vice President of Strategic Finance & Analytics (SF&A) is a key member of Sunrun's senior finance leadership team, responsible for driving company-wide financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and delivering the data-driven insights that inform strategic and operational decision-making. This leader will serve as a critical thought partner to the CFO, CEO, and business unit leaders, translating complex financial and operational dynamics into clear, actionable perspectives. This role owns the full SF&A function — from long-range planning and annual budgeting to monthly performance reporting and business case development — as well as the financial analytics capability that supports pricing, subscriber economics, unit margin analysis, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a complex, capital-intensive business model and is equally comfortable presenting to the Board of Directors as they are rolling up their sleeves to improve a forecast model. This role will be working a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in our San Francisco corporate office.

  • Proven track record of leading Finance teams in a company with 5,000+ employees.
  • Proven track record partnering with and influencing senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a knack for productive collaboration across varying departments
  • Mastery of complex financial engineering and structured finance markets, ideally with experience in renewable energy project finance.
  • High proficiency in AI tools, business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau), and EPM/ERP ecosystems (e.g., Oracle, Anaplan, or similar).

  • Ability to analyze and compile large sets of data and present effective reporting.
  • Proven creative thinker with excellent oral and written communication skills.
