About The Position

Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is an Alaska Native-owned nonprofit healthcare corporation serving over 70,000 Alaska Native and American Indian peoples in the Anchorage Service Unit and providing statewide services to over 155,000. The Vice President, Specialty Division will provide executive leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for the Specialty Division, which includes 17 departments, approximately 588 FTEs, and an operating budget exceeding $100 million, covering both inpatient and outpatient specialty care. This role reports to the Executive Vice President, Specialty Group and is a key member of SCF's executive leadership team, guiding the organization in alignment with its mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The Vice President is responsible for ensuring shared responsibility, commitment to excellence, family wellness, and operational excellence throughout the division and the organization. The Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) is a comprehensive medical center co-managed by SCF and ANTHC, serving as the local, regional, and statewide referral hospital.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health or business field OR MD or DO degree with appropriate board certification and three (3) years of experience as a practicing physician OR Master’s degree in Mental Health with three (3) years of experience as a practicing clinician OR Master’s degree in nursing with three (3) years of experience as practicing nurse required.
  • Equivalent training and experience may be substituted for master’s degree.
  • Five (5) years of health care management experience or demonstrated proficiency working in a director level position at SCF.
  • Experience as a high-level executive overseeing large scale and complex service lines and operations.
  • Experience working in complex healthcare environments, including community-based healthcare organizations, accountable care organizations, large vertically integrated health systems, rural and remote healthcare, and/or hospitals.
  • Experience in executive oversight of outpatient clinical programs, as well as understanding of inpatient clinical programs.
  • A strong advocate of Southcentral Foundation and its mission.
  • Collaborative leadership and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at various levels by cultivating relationships.
  • Passion for a community owned healthcare model driven by the voice of customer owners.
  • A strategic, innovative, creative, forward-thinking mindset to help push the organization forward.
